I know we said a new locomotive, not quite.

We have been asked several times over the years and it comes up in conversations quite regularly about something like this.

So, at last here we go.

Introducing the 5” gauge Rail Grinder maintenance unit.

This is quite a chunky piece of kit.

All steel construction, glazed windows, 4QD control system, lights & horn etc.

It is not a real working Rail Grinder, but it looks like one.

This new body uses our very popular Neptune 4 and Vulcan 4 chassis.

The real thing is made up of 2 units back-to-back, we have played on this and have made a couple of variants.

For space and budget, a single unit. And for those of you with a little more room, a double unit.

You have 5 options available including a matching driving trucks.

Longer matching driving trucks are available.

COMES WITH A 12 MONTH WARRANTY

1.5mm Powder coated steel body.

We have utilised the bogie frames from our well proven class 67,

With new bogie detail, showing coil and leaf springs.

Small enough to fit into the average car.

It has the same power as our larger class 66 / 67 locomotives.

This locomotive is capable of pulling 10 to 14+ people + driver.

(Subject to track and weather conditions)

The laser cut steel body sits on a full length precision CNC laser cut fully welded, powder coated steel chassis.

The bogies are 6mm CNC laser cut, welded and powder coated black.

All axle boxes and wheel sets are independently sprung for very smooth running on undulating track.

Designed from the outset to be a one person operation when it comes to loading & un-loading the locomotive to / from your vehicle or trailer.

Breaks down in to 4 parts:

Body, Chassis, 2 x bogies.

You require 2 x 12v batteries (not included with loco)

The unit is 24V

Comes with 4 motor sets.

Motor set gearing is 7 to 1

Ready to run only.

Ready to run is just that, ready to run,

Our locomotives do not include batteries within the price, but we can have them ready for you to

collect with your locomotive at extra cost.

Ready to run includes a painted body to your choice of livery, windows & LEDs etc all fitted.

All internal electrics fitted including 24v control system, horn and plugs & sockets etc

and sound if ordered.

Bogies complete with detail, ready to run.

As the 4 is part of our own range of locomotives, you can have any colour you like.
